GH, a joint venture company was founded by the Late Sheikh Hassan Abdul Karim Al-Gahtani in 1975 in partnership with Geosource Incorporation of the United States of America.

1980 HAK Group of Companies forms a fully Saudi owned company.

In early 1980’s, Geosource Management decided to withdraw their investments from Saudi Arabia and after mutual agreement the HAK Group of Companies (the parent company of GHTL) acquired the remaining 49% share of the partnership to form a fully Saudi owned company.
